Sokan New Materials Group Co., Ltd. was established in March 2009 and focuses on three core markets: consumer electronics, passenger vehicles, and specialized equipment. The Group has subsidiaries including Songrun New Materials, Ohashi Chemical, Beichi Technology, Sandi Digital Coating, Sokan Electronic Inks, and Changjin Microelectronics Materials. In addition, it has jointly established a new R&D institution with Hunan University: the Sokan Institute of Advanced Surface Treatment and Functional Coatings. Driven by technological leadership, the Company provides customers with one-stop, systematic solutions across multiple categories, including coatings, inks, and adhesives, through its “interactive” in-house R&D and “customized flexible manufacturing” capabilities. On June 9, 2020, the Company successfully completed its IPO, becoming the first A-share listed company on Shanghai’s STAR Market with advanced new functional coating materials as its principal business.
In the consumer electronics sector, the Company’s business has expanded across four major segments: mobile phones and related accessories, notebook computers and related accessories, wearable devices, and smart home products. It has established an integrated product portfolio spanning multiple categories such as coatings, inks, and adhesives. The Company is one of the very few emerging Chinese brand enterprises that have successfully entered the supply chains of internationally renowned high-end consumer electronics brands and are capable of competing with global industry leaders such as AkzoNobel and PPG. It provides coating system solutions to well-known high-end consumer electronics brands including Google, MOTO, BEATS, PHILIPS, Canon, Amazon, Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi, VIVO, OPPO, TCL, ASUS, and DJI, and has become a core supplier of coatings and inks to Huawei, Xiaomi, VIVO, MOTO, and Google.
In the passenger vehicle sector, leveraging the technological advantages and brand influence it has built in the consumer electronics field, the Company has achieved major technological and market breakthroughs. At present, key customers that have already been supplied or have entered the Company’s customer supply system include Geely, GAC, SAIC-GM-Wuling, Valeo, and other well-known domestic and international vehicle manufacturers and automotive component suppliers. The Company’s automotive headlamp anti-fog coatings, as well as its PVD coating technologies and products for passenger vehicle components, are industry-leading or at an advanced level within the industry.
Looking ahead, Sokan will continue to accelerate technological innovation through a combination of measures, including deepening the development of advanced innovation platform systems, expanding into high-value sectors, and strengthening core technology breakthroughs in key fields. While consolidating and enhancing its market competitiveness in the 3C industry and automotive components applications, the Company will also expand into the complete vehicle market and automotive aftermarket, actively lay out in specialized coatings fields such as rail transit, aerospace, and marine equipment, and compete through differentiated technologies and products, steadily advancing toward its grand vision of becoming “a global leader in the field of new functional coating materials.”
