1. Substrate. The surface of the substrate should be as smooth and flat as possible to allow for better arrangement and orientation of the pigments. Since the ink layer in offset printing is relatively thin, achieving the ideal pearlescent effect is very important.

2. Larger pigment particles. They can easily clog the screen. If clogging and bubbling occur, stop the machine immediately and clean with alcohol.

3. Control of drying speed. The ink layer of pearlescent offset ink is thicker, and the drying speed of the ink is slower than that of ordinary offset ink. At this time, it cannot be adjusted by adding drying agents; the temperature and humidity of the paper and printing environment need to be controlled. The temperature should be controlled at 25±3℃, and a relative humidity of about 55% is optimal. Do not accelerate drying by heating.

4. Try not to use halftone printing. Pearlescent pigments need to be arranged in an orderly manner to achieve a satisfactory pearlescent effect in the printed product. Halftone printing is not conducive to the orderly arrangement of pigments; relatively speaking, pearlescent ink is more suitable for printing solid colors.

1. Printing stickiness. Properly spray powder, control appropriate stacking height; increase printing machine speed, reduce drying time of the printing plate; reduce the distance between the cutter and the pressure roller.

2. Poor or no pearlescent effect. Check if the dots on the first version are clogged or need cleaning. Check if the dot size of the plate is too shallow to meet the required effect, check if the viscosity of the pearlescent ink matches the speed of the machine, check if the angle of the doctor blade is too large or the pressure is too high, and check if the distance between the doctor blade and the pressure roller is too long, causing drying of the plate.

3. Pearlescent but dull. If the diluent evaporates too quickly, a slow-drying diluent should be used to lower the oven temperature or cool the air. At the same time, increase the printing speed and increase the viscosity of the ink.

4. Poor peel strength after composite printing. Correctly select the use of pearlescent ink, determine whether it is surface printing or internal printing. Choose the appropriate glue and diluent. Control the amount of glue, temperature, tension, etc. during the synthesis process. Master the corona treatment of the film. For self-made pearlescent ink, choose the appropriate diluent to match the composite glue.
