In July 2017, a sudden flood disaster struck the Changsha area, with Ningxiang being particularly hard hit. The flood was merciless, but people showed compassion. Upon learning about the disaster, Ling Yunjian, Chairman of Matsui New Materials, immediately instructed to actively engage in flood relief efforts, arranging disaster relief funds, as well as more manpower and material resources for disaster relief.

Active self-rescue: Donations for affected employees

On July 3, after the flood struck, emergencies occurred frequently. Some employees of Matsui New Materials suffered severe damage to their farmland and homes. The company quickly organized a donation activity for flood relief, showing love for the affected employees and helping them overcome the disaster through practical actions. "We hope to do our part to bring blessings to the affected Matsui family members, letting them feel the warmth of the Matsui family." This is the common voice of all Matsui New Materials partners. As of July 6, the donation situation from Matsui employees totaled 41,630 yuan, and the donation activity is still in full swing.

Going to the front line: Donating materials and cleaning up post-disaster debris

On July 6, after learning that there was a severe shortage of cement and other construction materials in the flood relief efforts in Huabao Village, Ningxiang, Matsui New Materials immediately organized cadres, party members, and union committee members to form a volunteer team to send four large trucks of cement to Huabao Village.

After the donated materials were in place, the volunteers from Matsui New Materials, undeterred by the hot weather and the foul smell of garbage, worked diligently and orderly to clean up the debris for the severely affected villagers, allowing the disaster-stricken people to feel the deep care of the social family. The villagers were very excited and expressed their gratitude repeatedly.

It is reported that Huabao Village in Ningxiang is a poverty-stricken village that Matsui New Materials is helping as part of the "Hundred Enterprises Linking Hundred Villages" poverty alleviation initiative. This round of heavy rainfall has affected over 4,500 people in the village, with 141 households submerged, 95 houses collapsed, 3,260 acres of main crops affected, 8,410 meters of irrigation channels damaged, 87 ponds affected, and rural drinking water facilities suffering losses exceeding 660,000 yuan. More than 2,000 meters of village roads were washed away, 14 bridges of various sizes were damaged, a 350-meter breach occurred in the Wujiang River embankment, and 19 electric poles collapsed and broke, affecting nearly 50 households in the village's shops, planting, and breeding industries.

Secretary Yu of the Huabao Village branch introduced: "Currently, all post-disaster recovery work is proceeding in an orderly manner. We are very grateful for the help from Matsui New Materials. With everyone's concern and support, we are confident in rebuilding our homes, restoring production, and overcoming difficulties!"

Generous donations: Actively donating to practice social responsibility
