To enhance the physical fitness of employees, enrich their cultural life, and improve team cohesion, the first air volleyball tournament, organized by the Matsui Group Trade Union Committee and hosted by the Air Volleyball Association, kicked off at the Blue Moon Valley Workers' Cultural Palace on December 28, 2021. This competition formed 6 teams based on centers/departments, with each team consisting of 3 men and 2 women in a mixed format. The competition was divided into two rounds: the first round was a round-robin elimination tournament in two groups, and the second round featured the top two teams from each group competing against each other to determine the champions, runners-up, and third place.
The preparations leading up to the event heightened the enthusiasm for this air volleyball tournament to its peak. The atmosphere at the venue was lively, with close scores and cheers echoing throughout. Athletes from each team worked together in unity and demonstrated excellent competitive levels. After 10 matches consisting of 21 sets of intense competition, the Management Center team won the championship with their cohesive teamwork, the Marketing Center team secured the runner-up position with their absolute technical advantage, and the R&D Center team improved through their matches, ultimately achieving third place.
As the grand finale of the 2021 Matsui Group Sports Meeting, this air volleyball tournament, which gathered hearts and energies, concluded successfully, marking a perfect end to this sports celebration and the irreplaceable year of 2021. The spirit displayed during the competition will transform into an inexhaustible motivation and passionate drive to excel in our respective duties.
